How to play the Multiplication as Repeated Addition Game
Start the Builder
Click “Start Building” on the home screen. This will generate your first challenge.
Read the Blueprint
At the top of the game screen, you will see a multiplication problem, like 3 × 5.In your mind, translate the “×” symbol to mean “groups of."
Understand the Commutative Property
This version of the game has a special feature: Order doesn’t matter! Because of the Commutative Property, the “bridge” for 3 × 5 can be built in two correct ways:
3 groups of 5: 5 + 5 + 5
5 groups of 3: 3 + 3 + 3 + 3 + 3
Pick the Right Bridge
Look at the option cards. You will see several addition sentences. Your job is to find the one that matches the multiplication problem.
Watch out for distractors: Some cards might have the right number but the wrong amount of groups (e.g., seeing 5 + 5 when you needed 5 + 5 + 5).
Watch out for “off-by-one” errors: Some cards might have the right number of groups but use the wrong numbers (e.g., 6 + 6 + 6 instead of 5 + 5 + 5).
Get Feedback and Score
Correct: You’ll hear a happy major chord, and the text will turn green.
Wrong: You’ll hear a low “buzz” tone, and the text will turn red.
The Register: Your score is kept in the top right. “Correct” is your total wins, and “Attempted” is how many times you’ve clicked an answer.
