How to solve quadratic equations using the quadratic formula?

There are three sets of solving equations using the quadratic formula.

  • Quadratic Formula (rational solutions).
  • Quadratic Formula (irrational solutions).
  • Quadratic Formula (complex solutions).

These are the steps to solve a quadratic equation using the quadratic formula:

  1. Write Down the Equation: Start with the quadratic equation in the standard form
    ax2 + bx + c = 0, where a, b, and c are constants.
  2. Identify Coefficients: Identify the values of a, b, and c from the quadratic equation.
  3. Apply the Quadratic Formula: Use the quadratic formula to calculate the solutions of the equation:
  4. There are two possible solutions, one with the positive square root and one with the negative square root (
  5. Calculate Solutions: Substitute the values of a, b, and c into the formula and calculate the solutions for x.
