This Probability Game is a great way to test your understanding of probability concepts. It covers scenarios like coin flips, dice rolls, drawing marbles, and spinners.

Probability Game
The game will present a probability problem, and you must choose the correct answer. If you select the correct answer it will change to green. If you select the wrong answer, it will be shown in red and the correct answer will be shown in green. It includes a scoring system, and clear feedback to help you master this skill. Scroll down the page for a more detailed explanation.


 


 

How to Play the Probability Game
Sound Check:
Click the 🔊 icon in the top right to enable sound. You’ll hear satisfying chimes for correct answers and a “thump” for mistakes.
The Progress Bar: Watch the violet bar at the top! It fills up as you move through the 10 different challenges.
Goal: Try to get a perfect 10/10 to earn the title of Probability Master.

How to Play

  1. Analyze the Scenario
    In the center of the screen, you will see a Scenario Card. This includes:
    A Visual Aid: Look for emojis like 🪙 (coins), 🎲 (dice), or 🔴🔵 (marbles) to help you count the possibilities.
    The Question: This asks you for the specific probability of an event.

  2. Choose Your Answer
    Below the card, you’ll see four buttons. Click the one you think represents the correct chance.
    Fractions: Most answers are in fractions, like 1/2.
    The Top Number (Numerator): How many ways the specific thing you want can happen.
    The Bottom Number (Denominator): The total number of possible outcomes.
    Certain vs. Impossible:
    If something is guaranteed to happen, the answer is 1.
    If something is impossible, the answer is 0.

  3. Review and Move On
    Green Glow: You got it! Your score increases.
    Red Glow: Not this time. The game will highlight the correct answer in green so you can learn for the next round.

Tips for Probability
Fair Coin: Always has 2 sides (1/2 chance for either).
Standard Die: Always has 6 sides (1/6 chance for any single number).
Marble Math: Add up all the marbles first to find your bottom number (denominator), then count only the color you need for the top number.

scenario: You roll a standard 6-sided die.
question: What is the probability of rolling a 4?

scenario: You roll a standard die.
question: What is the probability of rolling an EVEN number (2, 4, 6)?

scenario: You have a bag with marbles.
question: There are 3 Red marbles and 1 Blue marble. What is the chance of picking Red?


scenario: Impossible Event
question: What is the probability of rolling a 7 on a standard 6-sided die?


scenario: Certain Event
question: What is the probability that the sun will rise in the East?


scenario: Spinner Game
question: A spinner has 4 equal sections: Red, Blue, Green, Yellow. Chance of Green?

scenario: Days of the Week
question: If you pick a day at random, what is the probability it starts with ‘T’?


scenario: Marbles Mixed
question: 2 Green and 2 Red marbles. Probability of picking Green?

scenario: Deck of Cards
question: In a standard deck, what is the probability of drawing a Red card?
