Free printable and online worksheets to help Grade 6 students learn how to write equivalent expressions using the distributive property. How to change from expanded form to factored form of an expression using the greatest common factor (GCF) method?

Factoring by Common Factor:

This is the simplest method and involves finding the greatest common factor (GCD) of all the terms in the expression.

Here’s how it works:

- Find the GCD of all terms. The GCD is the largest number that is a factor of all the terms in the expression.
- Divide each term in the expression by the GCD.
- Write the factored expression as the GCD times the remaining expression after dividing each term by the GCD.
