How to play the Expanded Form Worksheet/Game
Choosing Your Mode
At the top of the card, you can toggle between two modes:
Expansion (Break it Down!): You start with a standard number and pull it apart.
Composition (Build it Up!): You start with the parts and put them together.

How to Play
Mode 1: Expansion (Break it Down!)
In this mode, a large 2-digit number appears in the center. Your job is to “expand” it into its Tens and Ones.
The Left Box: Enter the value of the Tens digit.
Tip: If the number is 45, the 4 isn’t just a “4”—it represents 40.
The Right Box: Enter the value of the Ones digit.
Tip: For 45, the 5 just represents 5.
Click Submit Answer to check your work.

Mode 2: Composition (Build it Up!)
This is the reverse! The game gives you the addition problem, and you have to find the total.
The Problem: You might see 80 + 2.
The Input: Combine them into the single number 82.
Click Submit Answer to see if you’re correct.

Feedback and Sounds
Correct: You’ll see “✨ Great Job!” in green and hear a happy musical chord. The game will automatically load a new question after a moment.
Incorrect: You’ll see “Not quite!” in red and hear a low “thump” sound. You can change your numbers and try again on the same question.

A Quick Strategy
Think of the number like a stretchy rubber band:
When you expand, you are stretching 45 out until you see the 40 and the 5 hidden inside.
When you compose, you are letting the rubber band snap back together so the 0 in 40 gets covered up by the 5.
