There are two sets of dividing numbers in scientific notation worksheets.

- Divide numbers in scientific notation (positive exponents).
- Divide numbers in scientific notation (include negative exponents)

These are the steps to divide numbers in scientific notation:

- Divide the coefficients of the numbers.
- Subtract the exponents of the numbers.
- Adjust the result to scientific notation if needed.

Example: (3.5 x 10^{5}) ÷ (2 x 10^{2})

- Divide the coefficients: 3.5 ÷ 2 = 1.75
- Subtract the exponents: 10
^{5}÷ 10^{2}= 10^{(5-2)}= 10^{3} - Adjust to scientific notation if needed: 10.35 ÷ 10
^{5}= 1.035 ÷ 10^{6}

Example: (2.1 x 10^{-4}) ÷ (3.5 x 10^{2})

- Divide the coefficients: 2.1 ÷ 7 = 14.7
- Subtract the exponents: 10
^{04}÷ 10^{2}= 10^{(-4+2)}= 10^{-2} - Adjust to scientific notation if needed: 14.7 ÷ 10
^{-2}= 1.47 ÷ 10^{-1}
