When converting fractions to decimals, we need to divide the numerator by the denominator.

You can follow these steps, to convert fractions to repeating decimals using long division:

- Perform long division by dividing the numerator (dividend) by the denominator (divisor).
- Continue the division process until either the division terminates (remainder becomes zero) or you obtain the desired level of decimal accuracy.
- If the division does not terminate and there is a remainder, continue the long division process until you observe a repeating pattern. Place a bar (or dots) over the repeating digits to indicate the repeating decimal.

However, there is a shortcut when converting a fraction with denominator of 9, 99, 999. If the denominator is 9, 99, or 999 then the converted decimal will be a repeating decimal. If the denominator is factor of 9, 99, or 999, you could change it to an equivalent fraction with a denominator of 9, 99, or 999 and then use this shortcut method.
