Teaching the concepts of numbers “before, between, and after” in 2nd Grade involves reinforcing the understanding of number order and relationships.

  1. Make sure students have a solid foundation in counting and recognizing numbers in sequence.
  2. Explain that the number before a given number is the one that comes right before it in the counting sequence.
  3. Explain that the numbers between two given numbers are the ones that come in the sequence between them.
  4. Explain that the number after a given number is the one that comes right after it in the counting sequence.
