Visual Addition Worksheet/Game
Welcome to Visual Addition Worksheet/Game. This game is a colorful, interactive way for kids to practice simple math by counting delicious fruits. The fruit next to the symbols + and =, help the students understand what addition actually represents. Scroll down the page for a more detailed explanation.

How to play the Visual Addition Worksheet/Game

  1. Open the Shop: Click the large “OPEN SHOP” button to start the game.

  2. Look at the Equation: You will see two boxes filled with fruit (like apples, strawberries, or bananas). Between them is a plus sign (+) and an equals sign (=).

  3. Count the Fruit:
Count how many fruits are in the first box.
Count how many are in the second box.
Tip: Use your finger to count every single fruit on the screen from left to right to find the total.

  4. Pick Your Answer: Look at the four orange number cards at the bottom. Click the number that matches your total count.

  5. Listen & Learn: The game will speak to you! It will read the math sentence out loud (e.g., “2 plus 3 equals 5”) so you can learn how to say the equation.

  6. Celebrate: If you are right, the answer box turns green. After a 4-second pause to let you look at your hard work, a “YUMMY!” screen will appear. Click “NEXT QUESTION” to keep playing.

Game Features for Learners
Static Fruits: The fruits stay perfectly still so they are easy to point at and count without getting dizzy.
Audio Feedback: The game uses a clear voice to guide you, making it great for students who are still learning to read.
Gentle Mistakes: If you click the wrong number, it simply fades away. You can just try again until you find the right one.
Visual Learning: By seeing the actual fruit next to the numbers, you learn what addition really means—putting groups of things together.

Educational Features
Concrete to Abstract: By showing the fruit (concrete) next to the symbols + and = (abstract), students begin to understand what addition actually represents.
Subitizing & Counting: Smaller numbers allow children to “subitize” (recognize the amount instantly), while larger sums encourage one-to-one correspondence counting.
Safe Failure: If a student picks the wrong number, that choice simply fades away, allowing them to try again without a “Game Over” screen.
