The following diagram gives some examples of 2d-shapes.

In this game, you are required to look at the given shape and select the correct name for the shape. The possible shapes shown are: Circle, Square, Rectangle, Triangle, Parallelogram, Rhombus, Trapezoid, Pentagon, Hexagon, Oval. If you give a wrong answer, the game will provide the correct answer.

How to Play the Shape Game
In this game, you need to find the area or perimeter of a trapezoid.
Here’s how to play:

  1. What shape is this? Select the correct name for the shape shown.
  2. Check Your Work: Click the “Check” button (or press the Enter key). The game will tell you if you’re correct. If you are wrong, you will be shown the correct answer.
  3. Get a New Problem: Click the “Next” button for a new problem.
    Your score is tracked at the top, showing how many you’ve gotten right out of the total you’ve tried.
  4. Back to Menu Click “Menu” to restart the game.
     

Description of 2-d Shapes
Circle
A perfectly round shape where all points on the edge are the same distance from the center. It has no straight sides.
Oval
A closed, curved shape, like an egg or a stretched circle.
Triangle
A polygon with exactly three straight sides and three corners.
Square
A four-sided shape where all four sides are equal in length, and all four angles are right angles (90°).
Rectangle
A four-sided shape where opposite sides are equal in length, and all four angles are right angles (90°).
Rhombus
A four-sided shape where all four sides are equal in length, but the angles are usually not 90° (it looks like a tilted square).
Parallelogram
A four-sided shape where opposite sides are parallel and equal in length.
Trapezoid
A four-sided shape that has only one pair of parallel sides.
Pentagon
A polygon with exactly five straight sides and five angles.
Hexagon
A polygon with exactly six straight sides and six angles.
