What is a ratio?
A ratio is a comparison between two numbers that represents two groups of things. For example, the ratio of people to legs are 1 to 2, or 1/2 or 0.5.

When two things have the same ratio, they are in proportion. For example, the number of legs is proportional to the number of people.
