Plot Integer Game
In this game, you’ll need to use your mouse (or finger on a touchscreen) to navigate a number line and “plot” specific integers. It’s a game of precision and understanding the relationship between positive and negative numbers. Scroll down for a detailed explanation.

How to Play the Plot Integer Game
Your Objective
Find and mark the Target Destination (the large number at the top) on the provided number line.
Positive Numbers: Live in the green zone to the right of zero.
Negative Numbers: Live in the red zone to the left of zero.
Zero: The purple “Neutral” starting point.

Controls
Move the Marker: Move your mouse cursor across the number line. The purple circle (your “marker”) will automatically snap to the nearest integer.
Plot Point: Once your marker is over the correct number, click the big PLOT POINT button.
Next Mission: If you get it right, the button turns green and says NEXT MISSION. Click it to get a new target.
Sound Toggle: Use the speaker icon (🔊/🔇) at the top right to enable or disable the audio feedback.

Understanding the Audio Feedback
The game uses a “Synthesizer” to give you instant clues:
Success Chime (High Pitch): A happy three-note melody means you hit the target exactly.
Fail Tone (Low Pitch): A low “buzz” means you missed. Look at the feedback text to see which number you accidentally landed on.

Tips
Watch the Colors: The Target Destination changes color based on its value. Red means go left; Green means go right.
The Zero Anchor: If you get lost, find the thick purple line in the middle. That is 0.
Scale Awareness: The ticks on the line are marked every 2 units (2, 4, 6…), but the marker snaps to every unit. If your target is -3, you need to click exactly halfway between -2 and -4.

How to plot an integer on the number line?
When plotting an integer on a number line, you always start at the same origin point and move in a specific direction based on whether the number is positive or negative.

  1. Start at the “Origin” (Zero)
Before you move, always find 0. This is the center of the number line and acts as your starting point.

  2. Determine the Direction
The sign of the integer tells you which way to go:
Positive Integers (+5, 10, 3): Move to the right. This represents an increase in value.
Negative Integers (-5, -10, -3): Move to the left. This represents a decrease in value.

  3. Count the Units (The Distance)
The number itself (the absolute value) tells you how many “jumps” or tick marks to move away from zero.
To plot +4: Start at 0, move 4 tick marks to the right.
To plot -4: Start at 0, move 4 tick marks to the left.
Tip: Even though -4 and +4 are in opposite directions, they are both exactly 4 units away from zero. This distance is called the Absolute Value.

  4. Mark the Point
Once you have reached the correct tick mark:
Draw a solid dot (bullet) directly on the line at that location.
