### How to multiply a decimal by a decimal?

You can follow these steps to multiply a decimal by a decimal:

1. Ignore the decimal points and multiply the two numbers as if they were whole numbers.
2. Count the total number of digits to the right of the decimal point in both decimal numbers.
3. Place the decimal point in the result by counting the same number of digits from the right as determined in step 2.

Example: Multiply 0.75 by 0.6

1. Ignore the decimal points and multiply the numbers as whole numbers: 75 x 6 = 450.
2. Count the total number of digits to the right of the decimal points: In this case, there are 2 digits to the right of the decimal point in the first decimal (0.75) and 1 digit to the right of the decimal point in the second decimal (0.6). The total is then 3.
3. Place the decimal point in the result by counting 3 digits from the right: 450 becomes 0.450.
Therefore, 0.75 multiplied by 0.6 is equal to 0.450.
