How to compare fractions on the number line?
Comparing fractions on the number line involves placing the fractions on the number line and using their relative positions to compare them.

1. Begin by drawing a horizontal number line. Label the endpoints with the appropriate values based on the fractions you want to compare.
2. Identify benchmark fractions (fractions with known values) that can serve as reference points on the number line. Common benchmarks include 0, 1/2, and 1.
3. Place the benchmark fractions on the number line. For example, if you’re comparing fractions between 0 and 1, mark points for 0, 1/2, and 1.
4. Determine the fractions you want to compare and position them on the number line.
5. Observe the relative positions of the fractions on the number line. The fraction to the right is greater, and the fraction to the left is smaller.
