How to count coins and write as decimals?
To convert US coins to dollars, you need to know the value of each coin in dollars and then add up the values of all the coins. Here are the values of common US coins:

  1. Penny (1 cent)
  2. Nickel (5 cents)
  3. Dime (10 cents)
  4. Quarter (25 cents)
  5. Half Dollar (50 cents)

To convert coins to dollars, you add up the values of each coin. For example:

3 Pennies = 3 cents = $0.03
2 Nickels = 2 × 5 cents = $0.10
4 Dimes = 4 × 10 cents = $0.40
1 Quarter = 1 × 25 cents = $0.25
1 Half Dollar = 1 × 50 cents = $0.50

Adding up these amounts:
$0.03 + $0.10 + $0.40 + $0.25 + $0.50 = $1.28

So, the total value of these coins is $1.28.
