Roman Numeral Conversion Worksheets (up to 50)

Objective: I know how to convert Roman numerals to Arabic numerals..

The Roman numerals consists of the symbols

I = 1

V = 5

X = 10

L = 50

C = 100

D = 500

M = 1,000

When a Roman symbol is preceded by a symbol of equal or greater value, the values of a symbol are added.

For example, XVI = 10 + 5 + 1 = 16

When a symbol is preceded by a symbol of lesser value, the values are subtracted.

For example, IV = 5 – 1 = 4

Fill in all the gaps, then press "Check" to check your answers. Use the "Hint" button to get a free letter if an answer is giving you trouble. You can also click on the "[?]" button to get a clue. Note that you will lose points if you ask for hints or clues!
