Solving Equations by Combining Like Terms (Worksheet)




 

Objective: I can solve equations by combining like terms..

Like terms are terms that contain the same variable with the same exponent. Two terms that are like terms may be combine into one term by adding or subtracting.

x + 1 + 3x = 29
Answer: x =

6 + 4x + x = 46

- 3x + 9 + 4x = 10

5x + 4 - 2x = 28
