Objective: I can write fractions in words.

We use cardinal numbers and ordinal numbers when we write fractions in words.

Example:
2/5 is two-fifths.

The top number sounds like a cardinal number. The bottom number sounds like an ordinal number. We use a hyphen to write the fraction.

The fraction 1/2 is an exception to this

1/2 is one-half not one second.

Fill in all the gaps, then press "Check" to check your answers. Use the "Hint" button to get a free letter if an answer is giving you trouble. You can also click on the "[?]" button to get a clue. Note that you will lose points if you ask for hints or clues!
