Surface Area of Sphere




 

Objective: I know how to evaluate the surface area of a sphere.

Evaluate the following problems. (Take π = 3.14 and round to the nearest hundredths)

1) A metal tube has an outer diameter of 20 mm and an inner diameter of 14 mm. Its length is 3 m. Find the total surface area of the tube in cm2.
Total surface area of tube = cm2

2) Calculate the surface area of a cone where the radius of its base is 14 cm and the slanting height is 7 cm.
Area = cm2

3) Calculate the surface area of a sphere whose radius is 7 cm.
Area = cm2

4) Calculate the surface area of a hemisphere whose radius is 5 cm.
Area = cm2
