Videos and songs to help First Grade kids learn how to pronounce consonant blend SN. A consonant blend is when two or more consonants are blended together, but each sound may be heard in the blend. When pronouncing words with the “SN” combination, you say both the “S” and the “N” clearly in quick succession, without a pause.

Learning the Consonant Blend SN
The “sn” blend is made up of the consonants “s” and “n”:
“s” sound: /s/ (as in “sun”)
“n” sound: /n/ (as in “nose”)
When you put them together, you get the blended sound /sn/. Try saying it slowly: /s/-/n/-/sn/. You should be able to hear both the /s/ and /n/ sounds.
