Free Online Worksheet to help students practice rounding a number to the nearest 1000.

When rounding a number to the nearest 1000, look at the hundreds digit.
If the hundreds digit is 5 or more, round up by increasing the thousands digit by 1.
If the tens digit is 4 or less, round down by not changing the hundreds digit.
Change the hundreds, tens, and ones digits to 0.
Check that your rounded number is a multiple of 1,000.
