Symmetry of Polar Graphs :
There are many polar curves that are symmetric. The symmetry of polar graphs about the x-axis can be determined using certain methods. Knowing the symmetry of polar graphs can help us calculate the area inside a polar curve. Some curves that can have symmetry of polar graphs are circles, cardioids and limacon, and roses and conic sections.

Testing symmetry in a polar graph
An example of testing for three kinds of symmetry in a polar graph. Note: these are not the only symmetries a polar graph can have, nor are these the only ways to test for them. But they are the easiest ways for a symmetry to arise.
