If y = kx, where k is a constant and y = 24 when x = 6, what is the value of y when x = 5?

Substitute y = 24 and x = 6 into the equation y = kx.
24 = 6k
k = 24 ÷ 6 = 4

Substitute k = 4 and x = 5 into y = kx
y = 4 • 5
y = 20

The answer is choice c.
