Objective:

  • I know how to solve multi-digit addition word problems.

    How to add multi-digit numbers?
  1. Arrange the numbers vertically in columns. Make sure that they line up according to their place values.
  2. Add the numbers in each column, starting from the rightmost column (the ones column) and working your way to the left.
  3. If the sum of the numbers in a column is 10 or more, you regroup or carry the extra digit to the next column to the left.
