What is a linear equation in one variable?<br.

A linear equation in one variable is an equation that can be written in the form \(ax + b = c\), where \(a\), \(b\), and \(c\) are constants, and \(a \neq 0\). The variable (\(x\) in this general form) appears only to the first power.

These equations have one solution, no solution, or infinitely many solutions.

In this lesson, we will look at linear equations with one solution.
