Objective:

  • I know how to divide using division facts.

We can use our knowledge of multiplication facts to help us with division problems.
For example, consider the division problem 42 ÷ 6.
To solve this problem using multiplication, we can ask the question: “What number times 6 equals 42?"
The answer is 7, because 7 × 6 = 42.
Therefore, 42 ÷ 6 = 7.
