In these free math worksheets, students practice how to read decimals and write decimals in word form.
How to write decimals in word form?
To write decimals in word form, follow these steps:
- Write the whole number part of the decimal in words. (leave it out if the number is 0)
- Write “and” for the decimal point. (leave it out if the whole number part is 0)
- Write the decimal part of the number in words.
- Write the place value of the last digit.
For example:
0.25 can be written as “twenty-five hundredths."
3.14 can be written as “three and fourteen hundredths."
2.001 can be written as “two and one thousandth."
