Decimals in Number Form Worksheets

In these free math worksheets, students practice how to read decimals and write decimals in word form.

How to convert decimals from word form to number form?

To convert decimal words to decimal numerals, follow these general steps:

  1. The number word before the “and” is the whole number part of the decimal. Write the number word as an integer. If the word “and” is not present then write 0.
  2. Write the decimal point.
  3. The last word would indicate the place value of the decimal part.
  4. Write the decimal part in numerals.

Here are some examples:
sixty-five and three tenths: 65.3
fifty-seven thousandths: 0.057
