Convert Units of Length Worksheets

In these free math worksheets, students practice how to convert between the customary units of lengths (yd, ft, in).

How to convert between the different units of lengths?
1 yard = 3 feet 1 foot = 12 inches 1 yard = 3 feet = 3 x 12 inches = 36 inches

To convert yards to feet, you can multiply the number of yards by 3.
To convert feet to inches, you can multiply the number of feet by 12.
To convert yards to inches, you can multiply the number of yards by 36.

For eg.
2 feet 3 inches = 2 x 12 + 3 = 27 inches

  6. Hudson has a chain that is 1 yard in length. Myah’s chain is 3 times as long. How many feet of chain do they have in all?
