How to find the height of a triangle given the area?

Area of Triangle - SAT

Question: The triangle has an area of x2 - x - 6 and a base of x + 2. What is the height of the triangle?

Area of triangle = 1/2 × Base × Height
x2 - x - 6 = 1/2 × (x + 2) × h
(x - 3)(x + 2) = 1/2 × (x + 2) × h
h = 2(x - 3)

Solution: The height of the triangle is 2(x - 3)
