Some simple mental math tricks:
- Think of multiplying by 8 as doubling a number three times (2 x 2 x 2 = 8).
- If you know your multiplication by 4, you can double that answer.
- Break down larger numbers: 8 x 13 = (8 x 10) + (8 x 3) = 80 + 24 = 104.

Some simple mental math tricks:
- Think of multiplying by 9 as multiplying by 10 and then subtracting the original number.
- The tens digit of the answer increases by 1, and the ones digit decreases by 1.
- The digits of the answer always add up to 9.
