Today’s word is quarterly. This is both an adjective and an adverb. As an adjective, it means pertaining to or consisting of a quarter. For example, you can say, The company’s quarterly financial statement showed substantial growth.

Today's word is "quash". This is a verb which means to end something by force or to crush it. For example, you can say, "The police quickly quashed the riot after the championship soccer game."
