Ratio Problem Worksheets

 

 

Objective: I know how to evaluate ratio word problems.

Evaluate the following ratio problems. (Remember to reduce the ratio to its lowest terms)

1) Of the 12 pens Jasmine bought, 7 are blue and the rest are red.
a) What is the ratio of the number of blue pens to the number of red pens?

2) Melvin and Carlos went shopping. Melvin spent $800 and Carlos spent $500.
a) What is the ratio of the amount spent by Melvin to the amount spent by Carlos?

b) What is the ratio of the amount spent by Melvin to the total amount spent by both the boys?

3) The initial price of a shirt is $45. The price is increased by 20%.
a) What is the ratio of the initial price to the increase in price?
Answer :

b) What is the ratio of the initial price to the new price?
Answer :

c) What is the ratio of the new price to the increase in price?
