Coordinate Plane Worksheets - Area of rectangle





 

Objective: I know how to calculate the area of a rectangle given the coordinates of the vertices.


Step 1: Plot the points of the ordered pairs.

Step 2: Find the length and width of the rectangle.

Step 3: Find the area of the rectangle.

Find the area of the rectangle whose vertices are
(-3, -1), (-3, -6), (0, -6), and (0, -1)

Find the area of the rectangle whose vertices are
(0, 1), (-8, 4), (0, 4), and (-8, 1)
Area = square units

Find the area of the rectangle whose vertices are
(-2, 3), (-2, -1), (-6, 3), and (-6, -1)
Area = square units

Find the area of the rectangle whose vertices are
(7, 0), (0, 0), (0, -7), and (7, -7)
Area = square units

Find the area of the rectangle whose vertices are
(-6, 10), (-6, 6), (2, 10), and (2, 6)
Area = square units

Find the area of the rectangle whose vertices are
(-11, 4), (-11, 1), (-5, 4), and (-5, 1)
Area = square units

Find the area of the rectangle whose vertices are
(-5, -9), (-8, -9), (-5, -2), and (-8, -2)
Area = square units

Find the area of the rectangle whose vertices are
(2, -10), (7, -10), (2, 1), and (7, 1)
Area = square units

Find the area of the rectangle whose vertices are
(-2, 1), (-2, 4), (6, 1), and (6, 4)
Area = square units

Find the area of the rectangle whose vertices are
(-9, -3), (-9, -7), (-6, -7), and (-6, -3)
